Successful exhibition at MRO Australasia in Brisbane

Met Optix participated at the MRO Australasia conference and exhibition at the Brisbane Sofitel Hotel from 17th – 18th May 2023, as part of one of our Partners – 8trees commitment to the ANZ market.

Howard Chung, 8tree applications and support manager from Malaysia flew in for the Conference and was a panel guest at a roundtable discussion on technology in the MRO sector.

On the 8tree booth at the Exhibition, the latest generation of 8tree’s successful dentCHECK system was on display, the dentCHECK2 system, which had only been released for the first time at the MRO show in Dallas USA the previous month. The new dentCHECK2 system has a 30% reduction in form factor and is also 30% lighter. Built on the same proven engine as the original dentCHECK system, the new dentCHECK2 has the latest LTE connectivity and a more streamlined UX. The dentCHECK2 system will be released commercially in Q1 of 2024 and pre-orders are now being taken by 8tree.

Visitors to the 8tree Stand included major airline groups from Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the Pacific as well as many MROs and other aerospace contractors and a series of onsite demonstrations are planned with a number of interested parties in July 2023.

Two New metrology systems for AMC

One of our key customers – Australian Metrology and Calibration (AMC) in Adelaide, recently installed two new systems supplied by Met Optix – a Taylor Hobson Talyrond TR130/131 Roundness Measuring System and a Gauge Calibration and Length Measuring System from Microrep in Italy.

This was to equip their growing capabilities and prepare their business for future opportunities in the defence sector in South Australia. We wanted to replace some of our older equipment with the latest technologies in terms of roundness measurement and gauge calibration, and Met Optix had the right products and skilled personnel to help us with our upgrade journey.

‘These systems, along with an earlier purchase of a large format Starrett vision system, also from Met Optix, give us the confidence to tackle any project, large or small.
